I've noticed quite a consistent bit of quake activity at the Chixclub impact site. First off, could it be attributed to the impact even though it was so long ago? Second: If so, could some of the heat energy of that event yet linger beneath the crust? I know forming planets can take millions and millions of years to cool enough to develop a crust. Couldn't such a characteristic also apply to major extinction-level impacts as well?
