Diminished value claim?

about a month ago my car was hit when i was inside my office at work. it got hit in the parking lot along with 2 other cars. it is still in the shop and the total damages have cost around 8000. my car was a kia rio5 a 2009 model that i bought brand new 0 miles when i drove it off the lot i had only had it for exactly a year when the accident happened. now that my car has been in an accident it is worth practially nothing so we are filing a diminshed value claim but the ladys who hit me insurance company is not wanting to help me out or even awnser my questions about it...i no u figure out the price the car was worth b4 the accident and then take it to a dealer to find out what they would give u for the car with it not being wreaked and then how much they would give u after the wreak if anyone has any info please let me no
