Does he not like me at all anymore?

(This happened about 1 month ago) This guy named Connor randomly comes up to me and says, "I'm bored, so I going to talk to you!" So then for the next couple of weeks we become friends. Then his other friend starts hanging around with him and me. He asks for my phone number and then when I got home to check his text it said "Connor likes you." The next day I just kind of ignored it, but Connor said that he saw the text. Then he stops hanging out with me at school or talking to me. He just waves to me and says hi in the halls. But on the last day of school, he acts like my best friend and talks to me and stuff. So does he still like me as a crush, or just as a friend? I only like him as a friend. He also signed up for lockers right next to me for high school next year. If he asks me if I like him, how should I respond! He already got his feelings hurt by his friend for texting me! Thanks! :)
