Love my boyfriend but his bad temper scares me?

When I lived at home I was physically and emotionally bullied by both parents, my dad had an extremly bad temper and would start wreaking the house then push me or hit me to get out of his way.. My boyfriend also has a temper but I know he wouldnt hurt me, I realy love everything about him hes perfect except for when he gets mad and starts shouting and wreaking his room in temper brings back memories. Ive told him this but he stil does it, what do I do? I realy dont want to leave him because I realy do love him
